Dementia Care Certificate Course at TJC

This class is for professionals as well as full-time family caregivers. This course is designed to give caregivers an insight into the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, learn ways of communicating effectively and compassionately with a person who has dementia, introduce meaningful engagements into the day and create activities in the moment, deal with challenging behavior, and use a person’s Life Story to build happiness, reduce challenging behaviors and foster cooperation. The class includes a lecture, a Virtual Dementia Tour, and a Q&A with someone living with dementia.
